Postcard Youth Film Exchange!

Last Saturday, June 5th, Good Exposure students screened their films at the Art Theater in Long Beach. The screening was part of Postcards Youth Film Exchange hosted by Trade & Row.  High School film students from Carver Center High School in Baltimore Maryland flew out to screen their short films with our short films.  Films created by both groups were very impressive. Most of them had social issue based themes.

As an instructor I felt incredibly proud to watch my students films. I watched my students go through the same emotions that I have experienced as a filmmaker. They were nervous, excited and proud.  I hope that the intensity of the experience will carry them into more projects and inspire them to keep following their dreams.  They worked very hard on their films, many of them exposing very personal aspects of their lives.  On this trip I think that they saw how the experiences they share on film can inspire and inform others.   It was a deeply emotional and celebratory trip!
